Mike A Horton
President, Chief Executive Officer, Co-founder

Mike Horton co-founded Crossbow Technology and has served as its President & CEO, and a Board Member, since inception. Horton has led Crossbow from its founding product line of digital MEMS accelerometers and tilt sensors to its current market leading position in smart sensor technology. Horton has closed $25 Million in venture financing for the company, including investments from Cisco Systems and Intel Corporation. He has co-authored four issued patents, and he has co-authored another four pending patents. Horton was named one of the Top 100 Innovators in the MIT Technology Review and was named one of The Top 50 Movers and Shakers in high technology by Electronic Business Magazine. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering.




Michael Dierks
Chief Operating Officer

Michael Dierks leads Crossbow's wireless businesses, corporate development, and international operations. He has been an observer of Crossbow's board of directors since 2002, and joined the company as a full-time employee in 2007. Prior to Crossbow, Dierks was a Director of Strategic Investments at Intel Capital where he developed and led Intel's investment strategy in the areas of MEMS, nanotechnology, RFID, and Intel's renewed focus on consumer internet. Some of Dierks' investments include Iridigm (acquired by Qualcomm), Nanosys, RF Code, Six Apart, and Crossbow, and he served as an observer on several boards. Prior to his eight years at Intel, Dierks practiced intellectual property law in New York City. Dierks holds a JD with honors from Harvard Law School, and a BSE with honors from Duke University. He is a non-practicing member of the Bar of the State of New York and the U.S. Patent Bar.


Ralph Kling
Chief Technology Officer

Ralph Kling is the most senior technical member of Crossbow's management team, and joined Crossbow is 2006. Kling is responsible for leading the wireless engineering team at Crossbow and for related efforts for new product strategies, technical directions, and standards activities. Prior to Crossbow, Kling spent 16 years at Intel Corporation where he pioneered Intel's creation of the Imote1 and Imote2 platforms as Director of the Sensor Network Organization, and was instrumental in developing certain aspects of Intel's 64-bit Itanium family of microprocessors. Kling is an inventor on over 20 pending and issued United States patents. Kling is a Fulbright Scholar from Germany, and received both Masters and PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Peter Padar
Executive Director, Quality

Peter Padar is responsible for Crossbow's total commitment to customer satisfaction and quality, and joined Crossbow in 2007. Padar brings 20 years of experience in establishing and strengthening global quality programs, with exposure to quality management systems and issues on every major continent of the world. Most recently, Padar was at Elma Electronics, a global manufacturer of products for housing electronics systems. Prior to that , Padar was with ELSA AG, a German company that designs and produces computer graphics boards. Padar is a graduate of Technical College of Aachen, Germany with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He is also a certified QM-Auditor and QM-Manager by TUV Rheinland, Germany.
