Benefits:
Gain Real-Time Insight into Growing Conditions
View key crop condition information in real-time, 24x7 and drill down into specific blocks.
Monitor vineyard and crop conditions such as soil moisture, soil temperature, air temperature,
humidity, powdery mildew … data so that you can give your crops the water they need precisely
when they need it. eKo supports a wide range of common sensors, such as leaf wetness and ambient temperature sensors . Monitoring will allow for adjust watering, canopy management, harvest sampling much more quickly based on
daily climate analysis. Make immediate corrective actions to reduce the risk of
crop loss by being alerted of frost conditions and irrigation system breakdown.
Currently, Crossbow
offers a selection of commonly
used sensors, including:
eS1101 – Soil Moisture Sensor
The eS1101 is a soil moisture sensor & soil temperature sensor. The eS1101sensor measure soil moisture at different soil depths. By monitoring the sensor measurements between irrigations, it is possible to measure the rate at which the soil is drying out.
eS1201 – Ambient Humidity & Temperature Sensor
The eS1201 measures the ambient relative humidity and air temperature. These readings are also used to calculate dew point. The sensor enclosure protects the sensor from mechanical damage, and a membrane filter protects the sensor elements from dust, dirt, and water spray.
eS1110 – Soil Water Content Sensor
The eS1110 uses the [Decagon EC-5] which obtains volumetric water content by measuring the dielectric constant of the media through the utilization of capacitance/ frequency domain technology. It incorporated a high frequency oscillation allowing the sensor to accurately measure soil moisture in any soil with minimal salinity and textural effects.
eS1401 – [Solar Radiation] (Davis 6450)
The eS1401 measures global radiation, both the direct & diffuse components of solar irradiance. Allows users to monitor evapotranspiration.*
eS1301 – [Leaf Wetness Sensor from Decagon].
Many fungal & bacterial diseases affect plants only when moisture is present on a leaf surface. The eS1301 determines the presence & duration of canopy wetness allowing users to forecast disease & protect the plant canopy.*
* Algorithms have been integrated into Crossbow’s eKoView interface to allow users to easily manage & make decisions based on the data collected for disease modeling & prediction.
Flexibility at the eKo Node Level – eKo's Sensor are Plug-and-Play
1.
Additional eKo nodes and sensors can be automatically integrated into the network; the network auto
detects and self-configures each new node and sensor.
2.
Each
eKo Node supports up to 4 sensors.
3.
eKo Node Sensors' utilize Environmental Sensor Bus (ESB) architecture – plug-and-play
ESB Architecture – Installing a sensor is a plug-and-play process. After installing a sensor just reset the eKo
Node and it scans the sensor ports to auto-identify the added sensor.
eKo's Sensor Options
The eKo Pro Series system supports a wide range of external sensors among different
manufacturers.
Its plug-and-play Environmental Sensor Bus (ESB) architecture provides
the versatility to interface both
smart and custom sensors, with direct plug-in
for most 2 or 3-wire sensors.
Future Sensor Support:
Weather (rain gauge, wind speed, direction)
Pressure (irrigation)
Water flow (contact)
