Each eKo node has 4 sensor ports allowing each unit to be custom configured to monitor the sensor parameters needed in that area. eKo Nodes utilize the Environmental Sensor Bus (ESB) architecture. Installing a sensor is a plug-and-play process. After plugging a sensor into a port, just reset the node and it will automatically scan the sensor ports. This is indicated by 4 red LED flashes (one red LED flash for each unattached sensor), or a green LED flash for each port with a sensor connected.
The eKo Pro Series system supports a wide range of external sensors among different manufacturers. Customers who have a preference for a different type of sensor can easily interface it with the eKo system. The plug-and-play ESB architecture provides the versatility to interface both smart and custom sensors, with direct plug-in for most 2 or 3-wire sensors. ESB Benefits:
- Allows plug-n-play of sensors to eKo node
- Enables eKo node to auto-identify the sensors
- Helps support wide variety of 3rd party sensors
- Allows users to interface their existing sensors
- Integrates weather-station capability into eKo
